Flower Girls

My girls were flower girls for Blake & Sarah's wedding.  They had the cutest matching dresses and they felt pretty special to be included.  Aren't they beautiful?

Chicago Day 6: (Willis Tower, Field Museum, Navy Pier)

Our 5th day in Chicago was Blake & Sarah's wedding! It was beautiful, fun, and had a "candy bar" that my kids really enjoyed during the reception.  On our last day in Chicago, we visited the Willis Tower and stood on a clear ledge where we could see the ground below! Yikes!  My legs were trembling!  Next, we went to the Field Museum which reminded me a lot of the museum from Night at the Museum.  It was huge and very fun to look through.  We ended the day at Navy Pier which is a like an outdoor mall with carnival rides.  By this time, we were exhausted from our week, so we were content to eat pizza and people watch.

Chicago: Day 4 (Adler Planetarium; Boat Tour)

We started the day dipping our feet in Lake Michigan.  Brrrrr! It was cold!  Then, we went to the Adler Planetarium where the girls got to pretend they were in space.  We also took a boat tour along the Chicago River to see all of the various architecture in their buildings.  It was pretty interesting!

Chicago: Day 3 (Millenium Park, Buckingham Fountain, Shedd Aquarium, Wrigley Field)

The third day started out with us walking through Millenium Park.  This park has the famous "Bean", a bunch of statues, flower gardens, and water fountains.  We stopped to have breakfast at a place with giant pancakes, like lemon-blueberry and Oreo. Yum! The rest of the afternoon we spent at the Shedd Aquarium.  They had massive fish tanks with ocean life from around the world.  We went to a dolphin and seal show in their atrium and Brielle was brave enough to touch a sting-ray!  After the aquarium, we went to a MLB game at Wrigley Field.  It was fun to attend a baseball game in person, but it was freezing cold that night!  The wind picked up after we arrived and we had to buy blankets and hoodies to keep us warm during the game.  The girls favorite part was the guy selling food in the stands yelling "Cracker-Jacks!" in the most annoying voice.  They laughed every time they heard him yell!

Chicago: Day 2 (Zoo, Michigan Avenue, Hancock Observatory)

On Tuesday, we started off the day by visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo. It takes about 45 minutes to get into the city, so we didn't arrive there until late morning.  The zoo has free admission, but you have to pay for parking, which is kind of backwards, to me.  It wasn't a large zoo, but we got to see plenty of animals.  Next, we headed to Michigan Avenue where there are tons of stores down several city blocks.  Brielle really wanted to go to the American Girl Doll store, where she purchased a cute swimming outfit for her doll.  That store had two floors and a place you can even get your doll's ears pierced! We browsed through other stores after that until we got hungry for dinner.  We ate at the Rainforest Cafe since we don't have one at home and the girls loved it!  They each bought a stuffed animal from their gift shop to add to their collection.  We also visited the Rock N Roll McDonald's.  It had 2 floors and a bunch of memorabilia from McDonald's throughout the years. Before we headed back to the hotel, we went to the top of the Hancock Observatory.  It looked so cool at night!  It is the 4th tallest building in Chicago--over 100 stories!  It was a very fun day and pretty exhausting!
